More Transformers Forensics- Nuclear Power Transformer Investigation

One of our crews just finished performing a very detailed forensic analysis for a manufacturer on a failed power transformer.  This 600,000 lb. transformer was located at a nuclear station with extremely stringent safety requirements.  The A-Line E.D.S. crew was able to meet and exceed the safety requirements and perform the work efficiently while allowing the manufacturer and the customer to gain knowledge into the failure areas to make a determination for the operation of like units.

The transformer was drained and located for decommissioning.

A-Line started by stripping the transformer of auxiliary components and then the walls were cut exposing the core for initial examination.  Many components were salvaged and sent to the manufacturer for further investigation or reuse.

The transformer windings were removed utilizing our patented equipment designed specifically for forensic investigations.  This equipment allows for the detailed separation and removal of windings and ensures that no evidence is lost during the decommissioning process.

Once the investigation was complete, A-Line E.D.S. shipped the transformer windings and other transformer components to our facility for further processing and recycling.

Our crews provide a skilled and professional service leaving no stone unturned for forensic investigations.  They will complete the job safely, efficiently and leave the site in better condition than it was upon arrival.

At A-Line we pride ourselves on our service oriented offerings.  From the recycling of your smallest distribution transformers to the on-site teardown of your large power transformers we provide top of the line service at the most competitive price.
